Interesting! I have never actually done that sort of distance with them, at least not that I can remember. But on a long ride with my other bike recently I found that once I was really tired I was forgetting I had the integrated shifters and was automatically reaching for the downtube *facepalm*
A well-written argument in favour of the humble downtube shifter! I agree with most of it but have found they get a bit tedious after 100km.

Ha yeah, exhaustion does some strange things to you, I reckon if I rode far enough I’d forget how to ride a bike altogether
I’m fine with DTS. Quite like bar end shifters though. Never tried integrated levers so can’t compare!
Bar end ones are good too, pretty similar really, just with a bit more cable!
